History of Club 736

     The Dominguez- Carson Rotary Club (number 736) was organized by Earl G. Beebe, A.A. King, Sr. and T. Vincent Tallon on August 16, 1947 with the South East Los Angeles Rotary Club acting as sponsor. The club received its charter from Rotary International on October 18th 1947 and the name Dominguez- Carson was chosen to honor the founding families of the area. When chartered the Club had 27 members each representing a different occupation within the Dominguez-Carson area. The first meetings were held at the Avalon Country Club. Several of these charter members remained active in the club for more than 40 years.

     The Rotary club of Dominguez-Carson
has symbolized service based on high ethical standards in business and professions and a genuine interest in civic affairs. The membership consists of outstanding men and women of the community alert to needs of their occupations, their city and nation. Each Wednesday at noon, the men and women of Dominguez-Carson meet for fellowship, a hearty meal, an interesting program and continuing commitment to serve.
